An Evening with YES
YES, the iconic British progressive rock band from the 1970s, comes to The Mahaffey Theater for its 2014 summer tour. They will perform their first two classic albums in their entirety and more.
It will be a first-time ever event when YES performs every song on Fragile, the 1971 groundbreaking album followed by a run-through of 1972's Close to the Edge and an encore of the band's greatest hits.
During the night's encore, the group – bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes and singer Jon Davison – will offer a sneak listen and perform material from their upcoming July 8 release Heaven and Earth.
Chris Squire and Jon Anderson founded YES in 1968 and created some of the most important and influential music in rock history. Fragile, which sold more than two million copies, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Album charts in the United States. Close to the Edge, a gold-certified album, charted in the U.S. for 32 week, peaking at No. 3. It was named one of the “100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time” by Guitar World in 2006 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded.
YES has sold more than 50 million records during its 46-year career. Iconic songs include “Roundabout,” “Close to the Edge,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and “Owner of a Lonely Heart.”
Tickets are $59.50, $79.50 and $125.50. YES is also offering special show packages that include near-stage seating, a meet-and-greet with the band, exclusive limited-edition gifts and much more. For more information about VIP packages, go to www.yesworld.com.
