Interpol is on tour and bringing their rock renaissance legend and tunes from their sixth album, Marauder, to Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater this spring, with special guest Speedy Ortiz

This is rock at its best, from the New York rebels who ripped up the rock scene in 2002.  For fans who know them, the new album and international tour is a big deal. The band played a vital part in New York City’s early 21st century rock renaissance. This is their 15th anniversary tour celebrating the seminal 2002 debut “Turn On the Bright Lights,” the trio have been quietly (sorry, LOUDLY) working on making sure they’re not just a cultural timepiece for music historians to study. The result is Marauder: an album that sways as well as it seduces, that pounds as well as it pouts, and that batters as well as it broods.

In 2017, Daniel Kessler, Paul Banks, and Sam Fogarino worked on the new album inside the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ rehearsal space in Manhattan. Even in its infancy, Marauder was shaping up to be a beast; an early practice session was so vigorous, it resulted in Sam hitting the drums so hard that he busted his kick drum. It's a show you won't want to miss. This show is co-produced by Bill Edwards Foundation For The Arts & Live Nation.

Interpol launched 2019 with a new single titled "Fine Mess."

“Fine Mess” continues the invigorated creative spirit of 2018’s triumphant Marauder, presenting Interpol at their most urgent and essential – with Paul Banks’ feverish vocals and haunted lyrics telling of “a sanguine and starry pair, buoyed and dashed alike by their own dreams and appetites” interlocking with Daniel Kessler’s serpentine riffs and Sam Fogarino’s thundering rhythm section, distilled around the seditious refrain: “you and me / make a fine mess.”

Ahead of a busy worldwide tour and festival season with Primavera, NOS Primavera, and Best Kept Secret already announced, plus a newly announced appearance as special guests of The Strokes at London’s All Points East Festival, “Fine Mess” is further testament to a band at their peak, and the first chapter in what promises to be yet another eventful year for Interpol

"Interpol seems to have become an entirely new band, as evidenced by the energy, songcraft and unexpected warmth of their new album” -Rolling Stone

“A carpe diem work, impetuous, bull-in-a-china-shop, with all the band’s familiar elements kicking with a new vitality” -Billboard

"The brightest, most immediate hooks they’ve pitched in years" -New York Magazine

American indie rock band Speedy Ortiz continuously push the boundaries of “outrageous and practical” to get their message heard. Lyricist Sadie Dupuis on guitars, vocals, and synths, supporting guitarist Andy Molholt (of psych pop outfit Laser Background) now joins Speedy veterans Darl Ferm on bass and Mike Falcone on drums - and together they accelerate the band’s idiosyncrasy through the wilderness of Dupuis’ heady reflections on sex, lies and audiotape.
