Branford Marsalis Quartet

Renowned Grammy® Award saxophone player Branford Marsalis and his innovative, hard-working jazz ensemble will perform at The Palladium Theater for one night only and present their original compositions and classics by the masters.

A virtuoso on soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, three-time Grammy® winner and Tony® nominee, Branford Marsalis has set himself apart with his impeccable technique and interpretive insight, embracing his art form's long tradition while diving into infinite improvisational possibilities. Like his father and brothers, he received a 2011 Jazz Master award.

In his varied career, Marsalis has lead The Tonight Show with Jay Leno band for three years, performed with symphony orchestras, collaborated with Sting and the Grateful Dead, had his own hip-hop band Buckshot LeFonque and composed scores for Broadway.

Four MFs Playin' Tunes is the name of his most recent recording released in 2012 on his own label, Marsalis Music. The album features Marsalis on saxes, Joey Calderazzo on piano, Eric Revis on bass and Justin Faulkner on drums and explores the limits of musical adventure and band cohesiveness.

The Palladium Theater is at 253 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Tickets priced at $39, $49 and $59 and can be purchased at The Palladium's website, www.mypalladium.org, by phone 727.822.3590 or at The Palladium Box Office.
